Kajika Frog

Buergeria buergeri

The kajika frog is a small frog of clean mountain streams, whose males sing clear, ringing calls from rocks in early summer and have long been celebrated in classical poetry. Its toe pads help it cling to rock. Habitats famed for their calls in Okayama and Yamaguchi are designated Natural Monuments.
