Information we collect

When you sign in we store your email address, display name and (for Google sign-in) profile picture, along with photos and comments you post and their timestamps. Photos are resized and re-encoded in your browser before upload, so GPS and other EXIF metadata are never sent.

Wildlife Journal

Journal entries, notes and photos are private and visible only to you. We store your Premium subscription status (Stripe customer ID and status); card details are never stored by us.

How we use it

To keep you signed in, display and manage posts, prevent abuse and analyse usage to improve the Service.

Third-party services

We use Google Firebase for authentication and storage and Google Analytics for usage statistics. Maps use GSI tiles from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan, and photos are loaded from Wikimedia Commons and iNaturalist. Premium payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive your card details.

Deletion

You can delete your own posts at any time. Contact us to delete your account.
