About the Ogasawara Holly Blue

The Bonin hairstreak is a small lycaenid of Hahajima and other Ogasawara islands, with bluish upper wings. It depends on native island plants and was once on several islands, but collapsed due to predation by introduced lizards among other pressures. It is protected as an island endemic and Natural Monument, with conservation efforts continuing.
