About the Fixsenia iyonis (Iyo hairstreak)

Fixsenia iyonis is a small lycaenid butterfly with orange markings on the underside of its wings. Its caterpillars depend on specific host plants, so its range is very restricted. It is known from a few mountain areas of Shikoku, and because it is local and scarce it has been designated a Natural Monument.
