Luehdorfia puziloi

Luehdorfia puziloi is a small yellow-and-black butterfly resembling the Japanese Luehdorfia, found in northern Honshu and Hokkaido. It appears in early spring in deciduous woods and grassland, and its larvae feed on wild ginger. It emerges once a year in spring and is sensitive to environmental change, so its habitats are designated Natural Monuments.
